The Namosi Joint Venture (NJV) is now accepting applications for Semester 2, 2012 under its Education Assistance Program.

The Education Assistance Program is for students from the provinces of Namosi and Tikina Waidina, Naitasiri who need financial support to attend or complete relevant tertiary education or vocational courses.

The Education Assistance Program guidelines and application form are available from the NJV website (www.njv.com.fj), the NJV Suva office and through representatives of the Tikina Namosi Landowners Committee (TNLC).

Applications for Semester 2, 2012 assistance must be received by the NJV by 23 July 2012.

The NJV provided $130,000 to 119 students during Semester 1, 2012.

The money helped students pay for tertiary education and vocational courses at the University of the South Pacific, Fiji National University, Corpus Christie Teachers College, APTEC, Pasifika Institute of Tourism and NZPTC among others.

NJV Country Manager, Greg Morris said the joint venture strongly believes in the value of education and training.

“It is part of our commitment to community support and development in the areas we operate in,” Mr Morris said.

“We encourage all potential applicants to read the Education Assistance Program guidelines before submitting an application to ensure they understand and meet the relevant criteria.”

The NJV provided $276,000 in education assistance in 2011.
