Community

The Namosi Joint Venture (NJV) recognises and respects the culture, values, traditions and heritage of the communities in which we operate.

The NJV consults extensively with local communities and key stakeholder groups in relation to its activities. This is being undertaken in a range of ways including:

  • Formal village, community and stakeholder information sessions
  • Formal and informal village meetings and discussions
  • Formal Waisoi Project EIA consultation and information sessions
  • Responding to public enquiries by phone, email and in person.

The NJV has a team of Community Relations Officers who regularly visit local villages and other stakeholders to discuss the NJV’s exploration activities and proposed projects as well as listen to community feedback and concerns.

The NJV also conducts individual and group information briefings with key stakeholder groups, including villages. These information briefings are in addition to the public consultation sessions being conducted as part of the Waisoi Project Environmental Impact Assessment.
